MoJoMonday # 132

Hi all, for you who know my blog, you know that I have been getting ready for my daughters baby shower coming up. I made this card for her and it matches the cake top, the corsage and the invitations that I have been busy making. I love it when things just fall into place. (That does not happen often for me)
I used the same papers, and since it is a boy I did not want to put ribbon on it so I added the rattle
rattle @ 1 1/4" and monkey @ 2 1/4" cut from my cricut.
Hope you like.

if you would like to see the cake top, corsage and invitations, you can find them on earlier post on this blog!
thanks for looking! Carol<><

(she has on in her town and thought I could use it when I would visit) few problems with that idea, when I travel there I want to see the grandkids, not go shopping and 2nd HL is not open on Sundays.
anyway the paper is called Daisy Paisley from the paper Studio

paper from my newest collection..twinkle twinkle little boy from My Mind's Eye
this will go on the top of my daughter's baby shower cake that I will be making the end of April, but I was so excited how it turned out that I didn't want to wait for the cake. so here it is! and this is the first time I tried to make a corsage. It is tied with embroidery floss in blue.

was not sure how the crackle was going to look, the paint was thick and hard to work with but in the I think it worked out well.  oops, I forgot to put the little button on for the wheels. will do that later.
I added a ruler next to the corsage so you could get an idea of the size it is,
will post picture of the cake with its top on and maybe my daughter with her corsage!
thanks for looking   Carol<><
don't know how I missed this picture, not in order but I did not want to take the chance of everything getting deleted, so here it is last. Sorry I normally don't have such long post...

boxes

remember Miss March (Diane from Capadia Designs) over at everyday with Cricut?
She had these cute little boxes to hold note cards and I have decided to make some for the baby shower and give them away! She gave the best step by step directions and I had 5 done in little time!
for me, to save time I just used some fancy paper for the front and used a corner punch. I will put some handmade cards inside, but to hurry things up I will add mostly computer cards.
I did have 6 started, but one I tried with a white core heavy card stock and in the score lines it ripped apart like it was cut with a scissors. I guess that paper is a bit too heavy.

these are the directions for the boxes above. Miss March from everyday cricut (Diane at Capadia Designs) was wonderful to share her step by step directions with all...thanks Diane, I had fun with these and plan on making more!

I hope you enjoy making these as much as I did!

Just Scraps challenge #2 black, white & red all over

Here’s this week’s challenge at Just Scraps. (Our second challenge! Hurray! Perhaps we can double our participants - lol - wouldn’t that be so cool!) This time you have to use black and white and red all over.

Jean told me about Just Scraps, so I thought I would give it a try, I like challenges and since I have to make
quite a few for the baby shower coming up (I am giving some away for favors) I better do a few of them.
so here I have 4 of the same black, white and red butterflies,  my cricut Indie art butterfly
I also used my cuttelbug

I did not have enough red to do the inside the way I wanted to, so I just stamped a butterfly in all of them, I think it turned out alright!

MoJoMonday # 130

this one came together for me nicely! I knew I wanted to make a sun with the circle and blackout everything and the rest just feel into place.....I wish they all would go together so nice...
I like the  ribbon and bows look on other crafters cards, but I just don't seem to tie them right. So I went with some black dots that I have.... also used cricut pooh and friends for the sun!  and Verve stamp
                                                                 the inside

Mom's 81st BD card

this was made into the side step card, my first ...will be making more like this
Mom loves daffodils so she might just keep this one for awhile,
still not going to sign it.
cricut WIMG cart. for the flowers and the pot,   a few button bugs,
punch, ink and shadows for layers and to make the flower a bit more sturdy to stand up.
                                                                  forgot a sentiment
if you forget like I did...make sure that you lie it flat before stamping

Paper Cutz Challenge #32 anything goes

This week at Paper Cutz Challenge it's anything goes! Make a card, LO or craft project using any theme or colors you'd like. Post your name and a link to your creation in Mr Linky by midnight EST, Thursday, March 18th

the inside

this will be going to an online friend who is not feeling well with back problems...I found this style online  and thought I would give it a try.  When I find who I scrap lifted from I will add her name, now I am drawing a blank...any way, what I noticed was all the shadowing with black paper instead of inking...more and more layers, hers also had a lot of machine sewing and more layers than mine, a beautiful flower (hand made) and other wonderful details
I wish I would have made it in pastels, but my darker colors where still out...next time...

okay I found her!!! (mine would be a cheap imitation of hers)   Kim Teasdale over at paper in the works...
if you have not seen her work I would highly recommend taking a look, I spent 45 minutes over at her blog just admiring her beautiful work, and I did not make it through it entirely.
