My craft spot challenge # 69
good morning to all, and a chilly start to the day. Last night we had a strong cold front come through. I thought we were in a tornado, it hit so hard and fast even took the power out for about 2 hours. Thank goodness for the generator, the guys were able to finish milking, I remember when we didn't have a generator.... those poor cows had to wait with a full bag until the power went back on, sometimes hours and then we had to finish no matter how late it was....

I never thought I was on the computer that much, until I was left without one for a couple of days.
I took it in today to best buy and it took the geek squad about 20 minutes and it was up and running again.
my mouse got stuck and would not move for anything, and all of the programs they had to go through,WOW
thank goodness they know what they are doing.....

BBTB2- things that fly in nature
Good morning to all, over the weekend I saw a short glimpse of a painting on one of the home improvement channels, it was of owls going in these directions and I thought it would be a cute card, so I tried to study it in the one min. that I saw it and at the end the host said you could download if for free,,,, I totally missed where it could be downloaded but I think I got a good card out of it....I quick put it on my Design studio and made it this morning.... lucky for me over at BBTB2 they are having a challenge with things flying in nature,
if anyone did see it and catch the place it could be downloaded, I would love to have it and see how close I got to theirs thanks, Carol<><
Bitten by the Bug 2 Monday. So we invite you to partake of
our winged creatures and then we ask that you play along. Please
remember your focus cut must be a Cricut cut.
I made the owls out of fall colors (Like they were on the painting I was studying) and pop dotted the upper left owl, and a little doodling. Owls are from stamping cut at 2 1/4 inches

box for note cards
Hello to all,
Cindy is the guest over at I spy sketches today, and as I was looking through her blog I spotted her beautiful flocked Christmas box you will find it here....
http://heartsdelightcards.blogspot.ca/2012/09/flocked-christmas-box-tutorial.html
her tutorial is easy to follow and well worth the try....
next time I would use a stronger paper, I had to reinforce the inside and cover with a card stock , it worked fine because it is not seen from the outside, I might also find a different way to tie down the cover, but for now and this one I am fine with it...also stop on over at ISSC. to see her lovely Christmas card...

hexagon
good morning to all, I used my Design studio to weld the black
background together so that I would have a grid to place all the hexagon
pieces,it is a great way to use up scraps...this is also the first time
I used the chip board from my Art Philosophy kit, they work nice but
they add a lot of weight to this small card.
hexagons are 1 1/8 inch

I spy Sketches # 32
good morning to all, I have not made an ISS in some time and saw this one and thought snow flakes,
I used peach keen snow flakes for the background and heat embossed them, cut the window pane, upper left hand corner snowflake, snow day and bird with winter woodland on my cricut,
these will be going to my daughter who is a school councilor and my niece who is a teacher, come winter they look for those unexpected little breaks in the year.

I should have put a lighter back ground in the upper left hand corner, so you could tell it was a cricut cut snowflake with a gem ,,,,oh well!

look what Elegant Edges can make (4 cards)
good morning to all, while looking through my Elegant Edges hand book, I wondered what the "book" key would make, so I brought one up on my design studio to give it a try....WOW! I really love the way these turned out... all are 5 inches in height and will fit nicely into a 5 1/2 inch square envelope.
the snowman was the 2nd card I made, I wanted to catch your eye so you might come and see the other 3...
I wanted to see what the little swirl would look like in the snow, I added the negative for a wind blowing effect.
EE pg 25 in hand book and I put him on a wobble and cuttlebug for the snow
EE pg. 29, SYI for the tree
EE pg. 47 AE snowflake
EE pg 22 Indie Art for the butterfly, this was the first one I made, going to my s-i-l for her bd
I could not believe how fast and easy these all went together, all made yesterday and on my Design Studio
each card has 3 layers of EE 1/8 to 1/4 inch smaller than the first, the snowman white layer I tore for the snow on the ground look.

Contest time at Mojo Monday # 257
good morning to all, Wow, where did the summer go? Today is Britt's first full day as a Jr in HS... (yesterday was a quick hello for the upper classes and then they were on their way, the freshman had a full day)
this card had me stumped with all the layers on it. I switched a few things around to my liking and think it turned out well...I put snow flakes from doodle charms instead of a banner, and a star replaced the sentiment banner. Joy is from close to my heart(it came with my Art Philosophy cartridge)
Verve stamp in the center of card

gift card/money holder
Hello to all, I made 4 holders for Church. that will be enough because they are boring to make.
anyway, I call them gift card/money holders, because I do not like giving gift cards, I find cash is easiest, I don't have to worry if it is the right spot someone shops, or if the place will still be in business. That almost happened to me, last year about this time, Britt and I were at an ihop in town and I mentioned to her this would be a great place to give gift cards for Christmas, one week later they were closed.
These will be given to The Plum Shoppe sale at Church.
i found the pattern at stamptv
http://stamptv.ning.com/video/gift-card-holder-part-1-1
super easy to make, use up a lot of scraps and looks pretty,
thanks Gina K
I used velcro instead of a ribbon, and I only had enough scrap paper to finish the front of one of the black holders,,,,, and it looks fine

Hi all some of these will be going to Church...Wow, I sure hope that they sell, I have been asked by people
Why don't I sell these,,, my answer to them is that It would no longer be fun, it would be work and the pressure would be on, much easier to give them away...

more note cards
Hi all, these will be going to Church....I was at a local stamp store this weekend and she suggested selling them in single packs instead of the pack of 4 like I wanted to,,,, she made a good point that people can pick the one(s) they want, also more willing to pay $4 to $5 for one, over $10 to $15 for more...she also sold me some great cellophane bags that they will fit into nicely.
I found this great card over at stampTV
http://stamptv.ning.com/video/laced-sympathy-card
I also picked up the boarded stamp at the local stamp store, to make sure I liked this technique,
I had the bird and flower with my other stamps
I have to say that I am very happy the way these turned out. A BIG thanks to Gina K.
