it's been awhile

good morning to all, I have been cutting, pasting and making cards while it rains outside. But I know some areas are really getting hammered with rain. If what we are getting are the remnants of a hurricane, I sure would not want to be in one and my prayers go out to them who are.

box for note cards

Hello to all,
Cindy is the guest over at I spy sketches today, and  as I was looking through her blog I spotted her beautiful flocked Christmas box   you will find it here....

http://heartsdelightcards.blogspot.ca/2012/09/flocked-christmas-box-tutorial.html

her tutorial is easy to follow and well worth the try....
next time I would use a stronger paper, I had to reinforce the inside and cover with a card stock , it worked fine because it is not seen from the outside, I might also find a different way to tie down the cover, but for now and this one I am fine with it...also stop on over at ISSC. to see her lovely Christmas card...

the cuttle bug spot and cricut cardz challenge #5

  for the Cuttlebug Spot....

 For You: Christmas Gifts

Christmas is right around the corner. Have you been busy shopping? Wrapping already?  Well if you are wanting some inspiration on how to give that special gift...look no more. Our Designers have been busy altering and creating some wonderful project that I'm sure you will enjoy. Wether you are giving an album of memorable pictures, or a box of goodies, don't forget to add that special touch with an embossed look.

Cricut Cutz Challenge #5
Speaking of Christmas, this week's challenge is to make a Christmas card using one or more of the following things that start with the letter "S" ...Santa, Stocking, Sleigh, Snowman or Snowflake. Use the cartridge(s) or colors of your choice.
even though this is not a card, it holds 8 to 10 card!

I have been making these holders for years now, with computer  generated cards.  Now that I am making cards I  can decorate the holder also.
start with a 5 cent folder (when they are on sale before school starts)
for this I used WW - sleigh @ 2 3/4" shadow and base
horse @ 2 3/4" shadow and base
tree @ 3 3/4 "
snow flakes @ 1"
greetings at 1 1/2"base and shadow
Gifts from celebrations. #4 present  @ 3/4",    #1 @ 1", & #3 at 1 1/4"
I don't remember the names of the cuttlebug folders, there are 3 (click on picture to enlarge
for detail)

inside of the holder

you can see that each side can hold about 4 or 5 with the envelopes
1/4 size cards, I used velcro pieces to hold it shut!
